A new way to improve dental health

Dr Nigel Jones has a private dental practice in Abergavenny, Monmouthshire, serving patients from all over South Wales and up into Herefordshire, including Newport, Cardiff, Swansea, Monmouth, Brecon and Hereford. Dr Jones BDS DipImpDent RCS is one the UK’s leading Implantologists offering you the very best implant advice and care.

What is CBCT Scanning?

A modern dental practice goes hand in hand with the latest advances in equipment and techniques. Nigel Jones offers the latest in CT dental scanning, with the cone beam computerised tomography (CBCT) 3D imaging system, presenting a ‘surgical view’ of the entire field of view, enabling predictability and precision of treatment. The 3D scan is an incredible tool that minimises the cost of dental treatment, reduces treatment time and enhances the end results of dental surgery.

CBCT Scanning Advantages

Modern dentistry allows dentists to do far more than just extract painful teeth and replace them with plastic dentures. It is often possible to treat infections within teeth by means of root-canal therapy, or to replace teeth with dental implants. However both these modalities need accurate planning if we are to offer our patients high success rates with these treatments. Cone-beam Computerised Tomography (CBCT) allows us very accurate three-dimensional imaging of teeth and the important anatomical structures that surround them, with far less radiation than is used to obtain non-cone-beam images. The most recent guidelines recommend CBCT scanning before placing implants anywhere towards the back of the mouth.
